Please write out your fandoms in your comments, makes it easier for me :)

nakeisha gave me Buffy:

The first character I fell in love with: Buffy. She was cool and fight-y, and very funny.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I don't think there's a character that has really changed for me that way - I usually decide pretty quickly if I like a character or not, and then I stick to it. But probably Tara. I adore her and at the start, she wasn't a big character.

The character everyone else loves that I don't: There are several, but the biggest one is probably Xander. I never liked him much. He's too goofy, too much "lovable idiot", for my tastes. He's also oddly self-centered and he does things I absolutely don't agree with, just because he thinks it's right. Also Angel, Cordelia and Anya. Angel is far, far too whiny and boring and Anya is too loud. Cordelia was never as much fun to me as others seemed to think. I wasn't even the slightest bit sad when Angel and Cordelia moved to Angel the series.

The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't love her, but I like Dawn a whole lot more (and did from the start) than the majority of the fandom, or at least that's the feeling I get.

The character I used to love but don't any longer: I didn't lose my love for Spike, but I lost some love for the writers when they did the whole attempted-rape thing in season six. I re-watched the series a few months ago and it still feels completely wrong and out of character.

The character I would shag any time: Spike :)

The character I'd slap: Buffy at several points in the series. She gets very, very bitchy sometimes. Her world view is sometimes, despite how much she's lived through, very black and white, and she treats people accordingly ("Fool for love" with her "You're beneath me" comment to Spike springs to mind). Her treatment of people in the final season also bothers me a lot (although the other characters sometimes seem to have suffered a personality transplant in the seventh season, if I remember right).

A pairing that I love: Willow/Tara. They are sweet, loving, caring, adorable. And Tara really shows that she has a spine when she stands up to Willow's abuse of magic. Also, they have the sweetest reconciliation-scene in the history of such scenes. (I am ignoring what happens after that *sigh*).

A pairing that I hate: Buffy/Angel. I know it's supposed to be an epic love story but it bores me to tears. It's angst, wangst, crying, and so very, very teenager end-of-the-world crap stamped all over it (I realize it's supposed to be, but that doesn't make it any less annoying to me, and I thought so even when I was a teenager myself). Angel, for a 150-something old vampire, acts a whole lot like a high school brat.

Favourite character: Spike, for much of the series. And Tara. Because she's awesome.

My five favourite characters: Spike, Tara, Willow, Buffy... hmh.

My five least favourite characters: Angel, Anya, Xander, Riley, Kennedy

My deep, dark fandom secret: Naaah.

I'll play :o)

I don't really have fandoms, as such...well, ok, Buffy and Supernatural count. Another show I've seen an unhealthy amount of is Stargate - all the stargate shows actually. Sheesh, I have way too many shows I've seen an unhealthy amount of...how many do you want to pick between?

I don't need yours listed ;p Dollhouse. I finished watching it, and it was awesome :)

How's work?
shriker_tamshriker_tam on February 28th, 2010 09:01 pm (UTC)
It's very work-y... It's fine - I have great colleagues and mostly it's interesting :o) The whole experience is somewhat marred by the whole long-distance thingy and the dark, but the actual work is good.

Well, the dark thing is moving towards the light thing and the long-distance thing will become the non-distance thing, so keep positive? :)

Interesting. I was surprised by some of your answers, others not so.

I'm totally with you re: Riley and Kennedy - especially the latter.

And as for what they did to Tara :-(

What were you surprised by? :)

I didn't hate Riley as much upon my recent viewing, but he gets very annoying after a while anyway. He's just such a goody-goody and then it's all angst when the Initiative isn't what he thinks it is. Meh.

I want to strangle Kennedy most of the time. She's a brat. Ugh, why did she have to exist?

Tara :( It's so, so, so sad. And also very Joss, unfortunately. ("Happy couple? Let's give them angst!")

Xander and also by how much you dislike Buffy/Angel.

Interestingly, I disliked Riley less on second viewing too - but he was annoying. I actually love the bit when he tells Buffy not to hold back and she throws him across the room and then tells Willow she was holding back. Hee.

Me too with Kennedy. She was an obnoxious brat. I honestly couldn't see what Willow could see in her. When you take Oz and Tara, what did draw her to Kennedy?

And what I found so ironic was she finally appeared in the 'picture' bit at the beginning as a main star in the episode in which they killed her off!
